Re: Long Distance - Reatime voyages?
Long distance voyaging does appeal to me. Is there a 'global' scenery available? I've installed the 'world scenery' files, but there are no ports to call in at or any towns, cities landmarks etc. I am aware of some regional sceneries, such as the free southwest Europe, but is there a larger scale '...

Re: VS NG performance failures
Is the 4gb patch still needed for VSNG? I am using It on a couple of older games, but not sure about a newer game like VSNG.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: VS NG performance failures
Yeah that's fair enough, It's worth noting I DIDN'T install Vulkan into the VSNG folder, I just places it somewhere else on my system, so it doesn't need to be in the same location. He does mention the Installation of Vulkan but that´s about It, maybe he shows that In the previous video he mentions...

Re: VS NG performance failures
Well nothing exploded so far  Seriously... My last session was with a cruiser ship (for testing) and I was getting very low results (11fps), With the Vulkan fix, that bumped up to 17fps. I had the water configuration (graphics) to retract + reflect, so I set that to shaded and the fps bumpe...

yes, I posted It, but theirs no Installation of the Vulkan SDK In that video. Anyway, thanks for you´re guidance and will Install as you suggested.
Again, thank you for you´re help. I am sure It will help others too!
Cheers

Re: VS NG performance failures
Can 100% confirm the Vulkan/DXVK works - I use to get around 20fps with Icon of the Seas in port, it's now over 100fps and this is a 3 million polygon model! This alone can help make VSNG the perfect Ship Sim as it removes the performance issues. Nice, but how do you Install It? Do you Install the ...

Re: VS NG performance failures
While naval war games like World of Warships and War Thunder perform much better than VS NG does. What makes these two naval war games performing much better than VS NG? I really doubt that either of them have the physics that VSNG does. The physics for the most part Is what stresses a CPU, add to ...

Re: VS NG performance failures
Still confused. Put the D3d9 dll into the VSNG folder and still am not noticing any difference. What am I missing? Just some suggestions... - Purge you´re PC. In other words do a restar, each time you do a restart It clears you´re cache. - Consider using NVCleanstall,It gets rid of all the bloat we...

Which file do I download on the Vulkan site and where do I extract them too? Do I need to run anything? I think you need to download the DXVK aswell... Re: Live METEO / METAR Feed
I once asked Ilan about this and he said that the current weather API he uses does allow only limited amount of requests per time. Hi and thanks for you´re reply. Yes, I kind of noticed that. It takes awhile for the weather to update once you activate the live weather. But that´s not what I am aski...

Live METEO / METAR Feed
Hi,
Just wondering where VSNG gets It´s live (real time) weather forecast? I don´t see a option to link to a specific online forecast provider, as In lest say NOAA for the US.
Thank you

Re: Manual and Auto Sailing
My pleasure, Blue I'm over 80, but sailing is still in my blood. We still have a motorsailer, and I've had over 50 boats...up to 54'. Learned to sail as a pre-teen in an ancient, leaky sailing canoe...bail and sail. Did intercollegiate sailing in International 12 1/2s, and 24' Ravens, where our cre...

Re: Manual and Auto Sailing
Hmmm...where to start. Have you sailed in the RW? Or is NG your first exposure to sailing? You can learn the basics of sailing in an hour; becoming a proficient sailor takes years, if not a lifetime. You learn something new every time you go out. First thing, the wind you see on the boat is the app...

Re: Manual and Auto Sailing
Ok, I seem to be getting better at the sailing part of the sim, but although I have a rough Idea of what the "sailing" panel gauges Indicate, I just wanto to confirm as It really doesn't state It on the manual... - Precisely the wind gauge, IIRC there are two arrows (green and orange) on t...

Re: Decreasing ship speed
Some of us have also encountered the same problem, especially with Axe's wonderful 2500TEUFeeder. It's related to a recent VSNG update which created a 'viscosity level' on the Graphics tab. Viscosity is supposed to slow reaction to control inputs at low speeds; on my PC it was 0.13 by default. I su...

Re: Decreasing ship speed
More solo talk... I sent IIan a mail with regards to my Issue above some days ago. I received a mail from him yesterday with him suggesting that I lower the viscosity slider to zero for starters. Well that certainly did the trick and now movement Is as expected In cargo vessels ;) I would not have t...

I´ll continue talking to myself  Seriously, just hope It helps others.. I also deleted some boats I knew I wasn't going to use. I then created...

Re: Activation
I use both versions, Steam and non-Steam. The problem does not exist with the Steam version. The copy protection is regulated there via your Steam account. So the activation Is more related to DRM then anything else. You still need a code for the web site version. While I do support the Idea that t...

Re: Decreasing ship speed
After doing some testing, I see that the smaller boats do work as they should, In other words speed and throttle work, and so does the AP. So this Is quite strange, at least to me. I am also getting quite a few CTD´s which never happened before. Not sure If I should just re-Install VSNG, or If that ...

Decreasing ship speed
Don´t know what´s going on with VSNG. Ship speed just decreases no matter what I do. Today I Installed the Nickolaos A cargo mod/ship, and also bought the 2500TEU from SIM3D, neither ships will hold the Input speed. Even If I manually Increase speed via the panel (V key), It slowly drops to cero whi...

Manual and Auto Sailing
Hi folks, hope all Is well... I jumped back Into VSNG recently and basically focusing on sailing boats. Bought a couple from SIM3D, and used some of the ones found In the library (Bavaria 40 etc.). While trying to have fun sailing, I found myself with quite a frustration. Readings on wind direction ...
