Thanks, Rob.
Ilan also suggested installing latest NG 8.3 min.exe into VSF folder. I have 168 sceneries in VSF, all of which I had imported to NG. I'm going to be making a lot of backup folders!

Absolutely beautiful, RF! Can't wait to take the conn!
And a fantastic website as well. I'll be anxiously awaiting those in the shipyard.

Re: Scenery buildings, objects, ships floating in the sky?
I have exactly the same problem, even including the California Morro Bay default scenery. I've been in touch with Ilan, and he shared your suggestions regarding moving to X86. He also suggested moving latest vsmin update into VSF.

Re: Bow splash far ahead
Try simply deleting profile.dds from Skylge folder and restart. NG will create a new profile. Has the elements file been altered in some way; that may cause change in how NG 'sees' the vessel?

Re: Virtual Sailor 8.2 is out
Great update, fantastic graphics. A few issues: Still no 'show panel outside' to make vessel details as instruments show in F2 view. A saved situation with anchored sailboats, furled sails...reopens with all sailboats under full sail, no longer anchored. Don't see option to unclick 'land on objects'...

Re: Little help
Altair, simply put each of your named boat folders into the "Vehicles" folder. Don't create a "Boats" folder, as VSNG will not recognize it. Similarly, place each of your named scenery folders in the "Scenery" folder. You refer to "Scenarios"...perhaps you mea...

Re: Virtual Sailor NG is out
It's frustrating. After entering a scenery, in this case River Oka, there are no objects...clicking on 'load all objects'...nothing happens. But clicking on 'load user objects', everything's great...it's all there. Then I click 'save user objects', load a vessel, run sim for awhile...save situation....

Re: Virtual Sailor NG is out
I've also had the problem of loading and saving objects in a scenery, and later reentering that scenery...no objects. Do we have to edit and save each scenery every use? I've entered sceneries with elaborate saved situations, found no scenery objects, and when I edit objects back in, program kicks m...

Re: Virtual Sailor NG is out
While "pushing the envelope" I've encountered a few glitches in NG: 1. If I select and accept 'show map outside', 'show radar outside', or 'show HUD outside', I get just that instrument on screen...nothing else...just the instrument full screen...and since I was already in full screen mode...

Re: Virtual Sailor NG is out
Hi Ilan, Just purchased NG last night, and it's already addictive. The water and spray dynamics are great, as are the instruments. I also encountered the problem with Axe's wonderful L'Aurore, with water showing in the interior. The problem is that Axe made many parts of the ship, including interior...

Thank you for this information, Andrew. I've been navigating the entire length of the Oka scenery, using Moskva-143. I have already reached the northern limits, and western limits of the scenery, and am now within about 30km of the eastern border...all in real time. It is truly a spectacular piece o...

Does it have elements? If so, click elements, body, and adjust draft to your satisfaction. If no elements are present, click properties, and adjust draft. When you're satisfied, make sure you save elements/properties.

Great input, Elliot. And thanks for the NGVS videos...I agree, the water and spray seem a quantum leap beyond the dated vessels. There are of course many excellent vehicles already in VSF, but many are payware, so Ilan doesn't use those in his vids.

Eureka!!! Finally got the River_Oka scenery working! I had tried the renaming of the bin and hdr files, and internal hdr title, to ypa as suggested. But that didn't work for me. I then copied the format Ilan used in his Cape_Verde scenery of naming bin and hdr "map"...and that worked. It's...

Alas, even after editing, renaming and reinstalling the scenery, the same thing happens. When I load the renamed Elatna situation, it takes me to the correct coordinates...but in the wrong scenery...E020N90. When I try to change map scenery to the renamed "Russian_River_Oka", it takes me t...

Re: What does NG Means??
Thanks, Rakom. I believe I did that, but perhaps I missed something in cyrillic. I wonder also if it might be that VSF 'remembers' the scenery from my first unsuccessful attempt to load it. Maybe if I delete and reinstall the scenery by a different name I can 'fool' VSF.

They can take the sailor out of the sea, but they can't take the sea out of the sailor! I hear ya, Victor. I may be pushing 80, but I still yearn for that tall ship, and a star to steer her by. I'd even settle for a short ship, and GPS.

Re: New up-coming Add-On
FWIW, I concur. The raft without the ballast bags doesn't show any parts you wouldn't expect to see in the RW. And even though it may be slightly airborne at times...so would a real raft in severe conditions of high winds and cresting waves, even with ballast bags. Omit the bags and save some polys....

Pascal, regarding the River_Oka scenery above. I've followed your suggestions, but always wind up in the E020N90 scenery at the situation coordinates..both with and without scenery scan activated. And if I click on River_Oka scenery, VSF places me at default 0,0 position. Somehow, my VSF doesn't rec...

You can always drive vehicles on land, but what you have disabled is 'land on vehicles'. Restore that, and make sure you have 'check object collision' also enabled, and your ship will not pass thru objects.

Re: Ships accelerate/decelerate too fast. FIX?
One way to reduce VSF acceleration rate is to reduce prop size in properties/elements. But remember, in the real world ships typically accelerate in increments...ie, ahead dead slow...ahead one third...ahead two thirds...ahead standard...ahead full. And when getting underway, they're usually in pilo...
