A small suggestion if I may: the lights controlled by "control+C" would benefit from sliding laterally rather than vertically. They could then be hidden inside the ship rather than being visible under the keel [naturally if no interior fittings planned].

nope....
I all ready did what u say...sliding in one direction? and limited distance..if i try sliding inside... those lightnings in funnels, main deck lightnings and in the bridge lightnings parts will left behind outside...thats whys i used swing ....those illumination lights is in one mesh only... the best option is swing downward ...slide inside is not the best option...
and if sliding inside those lightnings will miss up inside cargo deck..how is it?
