Re: Aircraft carrier Gerald R Ford

Hello, I just found an excellent free model on Sketchfab (you can register for free also) HERE
The model (FBX format) can be imported in VSF with Model Converter X or opened in Blender.
Greetings

Re: "has_deck = 1" option not working?

Hello, Although it is an old post, this is very interesting ! I liked to fly aircrafts with sailing aircraft-carriers in VSF (with landings and take-offs) and this is a very annoying bug in VSNG.. As you said the vehicles can be loaded on other vehicles, but this is not done yet during the "spa...

Re: Bow Wave and Wake Trouble - Assistance Request

Hi, John : happy you like the steam pinnace.. it was for fun and essentially to test the model with Blender. This could be a next step as it is very easy to isolate the different parts as props, rudders, helm and weapons and then to add them with a parts.cfg.. ;) Kevin : happy also you can see my im...

Re: Bow Wave and Wake Trouble - Assistance Request

Hello Kevin, Strange that you can't see my images : I can see yours and mines ? did you test a right click on and "save as image"? This is an interesting "School case" and I suggest that you train first from scratch with the Mini_Tug in the game : it's a basic and simple model th...

Well done John and thanks for your feedback, I thought you could do that as you used Deep Exploration in the past ! May be can you already post your config files ? We can eventually adjust them as I think we have now 3 models with different origin points.. :) From my side, I has continued the tests ...

Hello Everybody, Kevin : I just discovered with your post that we can correct easily the position of the model with Model Converter X ! To do so , as you have done, I imported again your boat.x into Model Converter X and choose "Transform Object/ Move Object" then move 15 to X and 2 for Y ...

Re: Bow Wave and Wake Trouble - Assistance Request

Hello, Sailorjohn : you have the files in the link above posted by Kevin.. I think you can help him with the vehicle.cfg as there are some errors with the ship data and the wave_scale (8). Kevin : Model Converter X must have problems exporting the bounding box but you can try to make one in VSNG and...

Re: Bow Wave and Wake Trouble - Assistance Request

Hello, As Sailorjohn said, it's difficult to understand the problem without more informations : type of file for the original model, used software for the conversion in VFS and main handlings with it etc.. As you seem to have been "playing" a lot with the scale fonction, I'll check first i...

Hello, in VSF you can select all the objects in a scenery (drag your mouse over all the scenery with the shift key down) : then you can test to move all of them, by clicking on one as they are highlighted in yellow, to adjust all the block in the new position you want (this can be a little tricky bu...

Hi Alexei, :) .. For the Swordfish Floatplane it's ok.. the same FS 2002 model has already one : http://chgend.free.fr/vsf/SWFloat01.jpg So, what else ?.. may be some extra textures for the Floatplane version by Alessandro http://www.mrjmaint.com/RegsHanger/Groundcrew/homepage/CFS2/skins/Swordfloat/...

Re: Plane problems

Hello Everybody, This is a very good idea for improving the New VSF! At the moment, we have to fly straight about 2 or 3 meters above the water as it was often the case in real.. ;) I agree also that this addon is a little gem I just discovered in this post : I made some searching and found it was a...

Re: Plane problems

As for the Albatross, you have to enter correct values in the vehicle.cfg, then to make some adjustments with the elements.cfg : this is a good plane, in my opinion, the main problem is the fast disk propeller and also it needs rotating wheels plus a Torpedo as main weapon.. :)

Thanks Alexey, but there is still a flickering effect with this famous deck if you watch well.. we had an exchange with Ilan who confirms the bug in the model. Thanks for answering, the strange thing is in fact the bow wave due to the extended (hard but invisible) deck going about 300m ahead.. finally, I found (with difficulty) a way to solve that bug and everything seems working almost normally now.. the bow wave and rear wake are perfect : http://chgend....

USS Nimitz

Hello, I was looking at this excellent model by Javier Fernandez (from 2012) and found there is an annoying bug with VSF updated, as there is an invisible deck (which supports vehicles eventually) in front of the ship and which goes about 300m ahead with the bow wave : http://chgend.free.fr/vsf/Nimi...

Re: CTRL+D and CTRL+C not working

Just tested the Ramon LLULL and as said in the readme, the ramps are activated with CTRL-A and G and work normally in VSF (updated or not).. I don't see any problem and I think that the other commands must not be active for this model as there are specific animations (anim and gear).

Yes, that's right but in Sketchup before exporting, not in VSF : as Sketchup doesn't make animations , I am afraid this is the only way..
