Re: Honoring the Legacy of Ilian Papini and Virtual Sailor NG
I started planning this same immediately after learning Ilan's passing away. Also there was a short discussion in the Facebook group, but sadly that post is deleted for some reason. There have been attemps to contact Ilan's family, including me, but sadly the family members have been reluctant towar...

I once asked Ilan about this and he said that the current weather API he uses does allow only limited amount of requests per time.

Re: Virtual Sailor NG 9.9.6 is here
Will we see these updateds added to the Steam version? Now all we need is a performance fix for the VSNG Sadly only possible way to increase performance is to use the latest version of DirectX library, which is version number 12 and VSNG still uses the old version 9 of it, which was released back i...

Re: Virtual Sailor NG 9.9.6 is here
Hi Since updating my sim, I've noticed a 'wobble' with the autopilot when using time compression. In previous versions of VS:NG I could use >300x time compression with no problems (except I need to reduce the simrate a bit when I get close to a waypoint). Now when I use time compression, the ship t...

Hi, it should have been fixed in the latest version (9.8.8), at least I have not had that bug anymore after updating.

There is a software called Deep Exploration for that. I have never personally used it, so I don't know anything about it.

You can add radio traffic i.e. to inside.wav sound file, which autoplays on loop when you are in pilot view.

Do you know about any Finnish content, especially scenery (ports), for the simulator? I am aware of most older content, I am wondering if there i...

I am sure he is.But we must remember that VS(F) is Ilan's freetime project, so he has not always time, interest or energy for it. If you want VS to have updates and new features more frequently, we need more paying users. Nothing is free. So everyone who wish to help the development of VS, you can f...

Re: Adding instruments.
You need first to put bridge_x, bridge_y and bridge_z parameters in vehicle.cfg to bridge area, not to null. Easiest way to get it right is to use same parameters than helm_x, helm_y and helm_z which defines the default viewpoint of the vehicle - if it is in the bridge. If not, then just go to bridg...

You do not paste the data. Save your OpenCPN or OpenSeamap data to a .kml file and load this file, using the button in my tool. Many people use Trimble SketchUp for modeling, and then Deep Exploration for converting it to .x filetype.
10 years ago there was possibility to use freely a plugin called 3D Rad for SketchUp, which I used for converting of port and buoy models, but a lot of time has passed since the days.
